Pagosa Springs and Pagosa Springs 2.0

Where do I start after a week with no internet! No TV No cell phone except if we walk up to the office or go to town. So backing up a few weeks I’ll try and get you caught up!

We arrived at the last resort on Sunday July 14th after a smooth drive from Bernanilio New Mexico. Pretty tight camp ground but it had it’s own charm lol. Joel backed in like a champ and we set up camp. Explored Pagosa Springs downtown. In our first week we went to the Pagosa Springs Spa and soaked in wonderful hot pools from natural hot springs. They say they’re the Deepest hot springs in the world! It was the highlight of the week. And we visited an old haunt of Joel’s called Williams Creek Lake. He camped with his dad so he has fond memories. We saw a herd of Elk and really enjoyed the bumpy mountain road. Here are a few pictures from our first week at The Last Resort:

Week two we moved to a higher altitude 8000 feet on Wolf Creek Pass to a place called Bruce Spruce Ranch. A very old place managed by an old couple who are very sweet. The only BAD surprise for me anyway was no wifi, no phone signal, no contact! It’s a beautiful place with huge spruce trees, green prairies and thunder showers every day! We’ve tubbed the San Juan River in Pagosa Springs, visited Chimney Rock National Monument’ hiked around us and more. Here are a few pictures from this past week.

We have 2 more weeks here at Bruce Spruce then we move to Mancos Colorado for a month. This weekend we are making a list of all the things we want to do before we leave. Still lots to see in these beautiful Colorado Rockies. Going to try and stay up to date on the Olympics and Kamal’s Run for President. Counting on the daily updates from the Washington Post and messages from my friends and family. July 1st will mark three months on the road. I will try and post a little recap of our travels then. I’ve been posting on the Nomad Facebook page to try and stay in touch too so if you aren’t on that send us a friend request.
